Who We Are

At Jew-ish.com we recognize what most people in their 20s and 30s have going on. We’ve got jobs, we’ve got friends, we’ve got clubs and theater. We’ve got knitting circles, we’ve got books to be read, we’ve got football games, some of us have kids. We’re Jewish, sure, and our Judaism might be a big part of our identities. Then again, it might take up only a smidgen of our lives. Or maybe it’s even on hold.

No matter where it fits, and as much as being Jewish is a part our being, if we are to find Jewish experience in our hectic everyday lives, we are likely to access it through unconventional channels. So when we thought about what being Jewish means to us — that maybe as a generation we’re really more Jew-ish — this site is what we came up with.

The point of Jew-ish.com is to get us together virtually to offer perspectives on the Jewish world — mostly locally but also beyond — as well as act as a central point where Jews and their friends can meet for a night at a show or a party — or a trip to synagogue. It’s a way to make you think about where Judaism fits into your life, but also a way to become a little bit more active in whichever way you are most comfortable. No pressure from your parents, no requests for donations, no obligatory matzoh ball soup with schmaltz.

Oh, and you can read our privacy policy, blah blah blah, but in a nutshell, you can trust us with your personal information. We’re not giving it away to anybody. Period.
